May Della Probst, 90, of Vandalia, formerly of Bingham, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2019, at Sweetbriar Retirement Home in Vandalia.

Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home in Fillmore.

An additional visitation will be held Saturday, Aug. 17, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Everett Shaw officiating. Burial will be held in Glendale Cemetery in Fillmore.

Mrs. Probst was born May 21, 1929, in Vera, the daughter of Albert and Minnie Henrietta (Kresin) Hoffman. She married Paul Raymond Probst on Sept. 21, 1950, in Bayle City, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 2017.

She was a  homemaker, and was a member of the First Church of God in Vandalia, Canaan Chapel in rural Bingham,  Bingham/Ramsey HCE and TOPS, as well as the Fayette County Home Extension for 55 years.

She is survived by sons, Dr. Alan (Christy) Probst of Fillmore, Dr. Bruce (Laurel) Probst of Belvidere and Dr. Keith (Donna) Probst of Estherville, IA; daughter, Rhonda (Bill) Jacobs of Chatham; brother, Wendell (Arlene) Hoffman of Vandalia; sister, Evelyn Probst of Ramsey; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren, with two on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Memorials may be made to Lighthouse Pregnancy Center in Vandalia.
