Members of the Montgomery County Cancer Association have announced they are cancelling this year’s Birthday Party and Celebration of Life event.
Typically, the annual event is held in June to honor cancer survivors and remember those who have lost their battle. It also recognizes the teams that work so hard throughout the year to fundraise for the organization.
At the start of the pandemic, the group voted to move this year’s celebration to October, but in light of ongoing shelter-in guidelines, the group has voted to cancel this year’s event.
They will still be selling memorial paper flowers, both in honor of those battling cancer and in memory of those who have lost their battle. More information about that project will be available at a later date.
The Montgomery County Cancer Association continues to work hard each and every day to follow its motto, “Montgomery County citizens helping citizens of Montgomery County.” Volunteers of the organization provide financial assistance to cancer patients in Montgomery County, educational grants and funding for cancer research.
