The Montgomery County Health Department will be holding its second drive-thru flu shot clinics this week.
The clinics will be held Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 9 to 12 p.m. at Litchfield Community Center, located at 1100 South State Street. The second clinic will be held at the Nokomis Park House on Thursday, Oct. 1, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The cost of the regular adult vaccine is $30. The cost of the high dose 65+ vaccine is $65. The health department accepts cash and checks, and is also able to bill insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, and Medicaid MCOs for the vaccination.
Members of the Montgomery County Health Department will also be holding drive-thru vaccination clinics soon in the communities of Coffeen, Witt, Irving, Fillmore, Panama, Donnellson, Taylor Springs, Raymond, Farmersville and Hillsboro. They plan to return to these sites for a second clinic if the demand warrants.
Residents who are unable to make it to these initial clinics may call the health department at 217-532-2001 to set up an appointment. Nurses will administer shots to those with appointments in the parking lot of the health department’s main office, located at 11191 IL Rt. 185 in Hillsboro.
Additional drive-thru clinics will held in various towns including Hillsboro, Litchfield, and Nokomis on a regular basis. Businesses who are interested in providing immunizations to its employees (minimum of five) to contact the Hillsboro office to make arrangements for a nurse to come to the business and administer these shots.
