Michael Dewayne Earls, 46, of Sorento, died at 3:07 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at St. Louis University Hospital.
Remains will be cremated, and no public services will be held. Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home of Sorento is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Earls was born Sept. 7, 1976, in Williamsburg, VA, the son of Lloyd Edward and Katie (Ayers) Busch. He graduated high school in Virginia in 1994.
Throughout his lifetime he worked in the construction industry as an insulator, and was lead foreman on numerous job sites until his disability prevented him from working any longer. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and shooting guns. He was very creative, and an avid reader who enjoyed drawing, and photography. He will be remembered as a selfless, strong, and courageous fighter, and an imaginative and loving father. His greatest achievement was reaching sobriety before his untimely death.
He is survived by his son, Caleb (wife Mason) Kilgore of Harrisonburg, VA, and daughter, Calista Jenkins of Shenandoah, VA; grandchildren, Tiberius Kilgore and Arian Van Fossen of Harrisonburg, VA; and his special friend, TJ Gibson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his grandparents, Lloyd Earnest and Carolyn (Rose) Busch and Clayton and Nannie Ayers.
