Michael Scott Cunningham, 40, of Litchfield, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 7:50 a.m. in rural Witt.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 6, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Litchfield Family Funeral Service. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 7, beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Glen Bishop, close friend, officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Ridge Cemetery near Atwater.
Mr. Cunningham was born Dec. 17, 1981, in Litchfield, to Carrie Blankenship Beeler and Scott Cunningham. He married Amanda Burnett on July 8, 2011, at Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield, and they later divorced.
He attended Litchfield High School and worked construction jobs with Adam Anderson in Butler. He also worked for M&A Stables as a self-proclaimed equine engineer and Desert Mountain in Scottsdale, AZ, as a food service manager.
Mr. Cunningham enjoyed playing drums and was the percussionist for the Lost Highway Band. He also liked to hike, camp and spend time outdoors.
He is survived by his beloved and constant fur companion, Athena; mother, Carrie (Mo) Beeler of Raymond; stepfather, Kevin Heaps; brothers, Travis Cunningham and Wyatt Beeler; sister, Kara Heaps Bono; aunt, Karla Davis; cousins, Jessica McWilliams, Charlotte McWilliams and Kelsey Davis; and nieces and nephews, Killian and Emilie Vann, Dominic and Jenson Cunningham and Beverly Bono.
Mr. Cunningham was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gary and Ramona Blankenship and Bill and Donna Cunningham; and girlfriend, Trista Casey.
