Michael T. Short, 60, of Irving, died Nov. 5, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Nov. 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Rev. Randy Sands, pastor of Hillsboro Free Methodist Church, will officiate. Hough & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Short was born in Hillsboro on March 7, 1961, the son of Thomas and Mary (Baran) Short. He was a self-employed carpenter. He also, known as “Michael T,” loved playing music in local bands and singing karaoke. He was a past member of the Litchfield Moose Club and St. Agnes Catholic Church.
Mr. Short is survived by his mother, Mary; companion Barbara Thompson; daughter Christine Short of CT; three step-children, George (wife Kimberly) Thompson, Jr. of Litchfield, Amanda (husband Rodney) Hessenaur of Highland, and Chrystal Thompson of Irving; and three step-grandchildren, Emily, Dyllan, and Bridget.
He was preceded in death by his step-father William “Bill” Norene; a sister Wendy Norene; and two brothers, David Short and David Norene.
