Mildred I. (Smith) Thacker, 96, of St. Louis, MO, died on Thursday, July 16, 2020, at her residence.
Graveside memorial services and burial will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday Aug. 1, at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Rural Donnellson. Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Thacker was born on Aug. 2, 1923, in Springfield, to Harold “Harry” and Laura (Anderson) Smith. She married Billie K. Thacker, he preceded her in death in 1989.
Mrs. Thacker worked as a beautician and for the rail road hospital in Chicago. She also worked at the Hillsboro Glass Factory for over 15 years. She was of presbyterian faith.
Mrs. Thacker is survived by daughters, Jerry Ann Snider of St. Louis, MO, Geraldine (Dale) Eccles of Panama, April (Ron) Albers of Delavan, Georgia (Larry) Endicott of St Louis, MO, and Karen Thacker of Haubstadt, IN; one sister, Barbara (Al) Schober of Springfield;14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Richard Thacker; one great-grandchild, Justin Adams; and two brothers, Billy and Norman Smith.
