Mildred W. Reece, 94, of Springfield, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2020, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Feb. 22, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Bisch and Son Funeral Home in Springfield. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. A private burial service will be held in Morrisonville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Reece was born Oct. 28, 1925, in Morrisonville, to Clarence Welch and Emma Specht. She married Dr. Wilbur Reece, and he preceded her in death.
She worked for Brown Shoe Company, Pillsbury Mills and the State of Illinois. She was a member of the American Legion Post 32 and the First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Reece is survived by two brothers, W. Paul Welch of Springfield and Loren Welch of San Antonio, TX; one sister, Berniece Williams of Merritt Island, FL; several nieces and nephews, including her favorite niece, Deborah Welch of Farmersville.
In addition to her parents and and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Lyle Keith Welch; and one sister, Eloise Myers.
Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 32 or to the First United Methodist Church.
