Mohawks Have A Ball At Busch

The score was 8-3, but chances are 20 years from now (or maybe even 20 minutes after the final at-bat), no one on the Morrisonville/Lincolnwood baseball roster will remember that stat from their game on Thursday, June 6.

What the Mohawks will remember is the sound that the ball made when it hit the catcher's mitt just right in the bullpen, the feel of the grass underneath their cleats as they jogged out to their position and the echo of their own name ringing out across a stadium that has been home to some of baseball's best players.

What the Mohawks will remember is Busch Stadium, and the fact that they got to play on the hallowed ground that the Cardinals call home.

"I'm hoping the kids had as much fun as I did. I can't imagine a better way to end the season," said Head Coach Mark Ferrill. "We had a long season with weather and everything. For everyone to get together this one last time... it's better than a pizza party, if you know what I mean."

We absolutely know what you mean, Coach.
