Nellie Mae Croxton, 90, of Maryville, formerly of Litchfield, died at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Liberty Village Nursing and Rehab in Maryville.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m., until time of service, on Monday, June 21, at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Funeral services begin at noon at the funeral home with the Rev. Jon Magnuson officiating. Burial will be at Edgewood Cemetery in Litchfield.

Mrs. Croxton was born on Dec. 13, 1930, in Litchfield, a daughter of Charles Frederick and Leona Myrtle (Reubart) Bliss.  She married Harry Duane Croxton on Mar. 9, 1958, in Litchfield, he preceded her in death on June 13, 2016. In her earlier years, Mrs. Croxton worked for the Brown Shoe Co. and Clean Towel in Litchfield.

She dedicated her time to being a homemaker and was a wonderful cook. Mrs. Croxton liked to paint, do crossword puzzles, play Scrabble, travel, watch movies and do yard work.  She loved animals and her favorite pets were her rats and cats. She especially loved spending time with her family.  

Mrs. Croxton is survived by her son, Charles (Brenda) Croxton of Bloomington; daughters, Tara Clement of Maryville and Lynn Croxton of Belleville; two grandchildren, Michael (Wanda) Croxton and Brandy Johnson; and five great-grandchildren, Mason and Davin Johnson, Andrew, and Natalie, and Delaney Croxton.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one sister, Leona Marie Slusser; and one grandson, Matthew Croxton.
