Nettie J. Campbell, 79, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, Nov. 10, at her residence.

A family funeral service will be held Thursday, Nov. 19, at Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro with the Rev. Jeff Hemken officiating. Burial will be in Bunker Hill Cemetery in Bunker Hill. Everyone is encouraged to follow CDC guidelines with the use of masks and social distancing.

Mrs. Campbell was born April 13, 1941, in Michael, in Calhoun County, to John J. and Ida Ruth (Beck) Klunk. She married Harry James Campbell in 1958.

On June 23, 1975, she earned her GED from Alton Community Unit schools. A member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro, she was a kind and loving person who loved the Lord and the color red.

She worked at Hutchinson Foundry in Alton, in home health care and at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.

She is survived by one daughter, Vicky (Campbell) McNealy of Hillsboro; one son, John Paul Smith of Gillespie; three grandchildren, Bobbie (Roger) Diveley of Carlinville, Ashley (Bradley) O’Reily of Gilberts and Christina McNealy of Troy; three great-grandchildren, Olive Faith and Mercy Rose Diveley, and one great-grandson on the way.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Brian “Bob” McNealy; one granddaughter, Mary Ruth McNealy; and one sister, Katherine Logan.
