Montgomery County's two Class 1A boys basketball teams are both headed to regional championship games on Friday, Feb. 28, after wins in the semifinals on Feb. 26.

Nokomis and Lincolnwood both won their respective semifinals on Wednesday, with the Redskins downing the host Hawks of Meridian 71-51 in Macon and the Lancers beating Bunker Hill 58-39 at the Woodshed in Raymond.

For the second straight game Nokomis got off to a strong start with a 21-10 first quarter lead. The Redskins would continue to thrive in the Hawks' nest, holding a 37-25 halftime lead and a 53-37 advantage after three before closing out the 20-point win.

Lincolnwood's first half would be closer as they led 10-7 after one and 22-20 at halftime, following an 8-1 run by the Minutemen. But a 10-0 streak to start the second half boosted the Lancers to a 46-24 lead after three and a 19-point win overall.

Lincolnwood will make their first regional championship trip since 2016 on Friday against top-seeded Calhoun. The Lancers' last regional title came in 2007, the final year of the two class system.

Nokomis will take on top-seeded Central A&M on Friday in Macon, after losses to the Raiders in the sectional finals each of the last two years.
