With the scramble to reschedule games, Nokomis and some of their Prairie State Conference cohorts will be joining the Cahokia Conference for the 2020-21 football season.
The Redskins will be competing with the other small schools in the Cahokia, plus the familiar faces of East Alton-Wood River, Madison, Dupo and Alton Marquette.
Tentatively, as all things are right now, Nokomis opens the seven-week schedule at home against East Alton-Wood River on March 5, followed by road trips to Red Bud and Wesclin on March 12 and March 20.
The Skins return home in week four to host Carlyle, followed by Madison on the road on April 3, Dupo at home on April 9, and Marquette in Alton on April 16.
The IHSA postseason, in whatever form that may take, is scheduled to begin on April 23, with the end of the season on May 1.
Schedules for Hillsboro and Litchfield football are still unofficial, but with ten teams, the South Central Conference has no problem finding opponents. The most likely course of action is to eliminate two weeks from their regular schedule.
