Nola N. Hancock, 82

Nola Nadine Hancock, 82, of Hillsboro, died on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021, at Hillsboro Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 22, from 12 to 1 p.m. at Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Waveland Cemetery in Donnellson.

Mrs. Hancock was born May 28, 1938, in Litchfield, to William and Opal (Hemken) Fenton. She married John Henry Hancock in 1955, and he preceded her in death.

During her career, she served as an aid at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield and worked at Hillsboro Glass Factory in Schram City.

Mrs. Hancock was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra Thompson of Litchfield; sons, John (Cathy) Hancock of Irving, Terry (Lisa) Hancock and Randy Hancock, both of Litchfield; three stepchildren, Sandy (Gary) Taylor of Woodson, Tom Hancock and Glenna Hancock, both of Litchfield; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three brothers, Clarence, Melvin and Marvin Fenton; and one sister, Velma Speed.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hancock was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harold “Frog” Fenton and Pastor Elmer Fenton; sister, Irene Ryan; and stepdaughter, Gena Kleinik.
