Norma Carlene Crum, 78, of Mason, OH, died on Aug. 6, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 13, at Hough And Sons Funeral Home in Raymond. Burial will follow services at Asbury Cemetery in Raymond with the Rev. Dennis Hill officiating. Hough Funeral Home in Raymond is assisting  the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Crum was born on Nov. 26, 1944, in Hillsboro  to Carl and Hazel (Swires) Lewey. She married Robert Crum on Jan. 26,1964, in Raymond.

She graduated from Raymond High School in 1962, and then attended Illinois State University. She graduated with an associate’s degree in biblical studies from Indiana Christian University, after the couple raised their children.

Mrs. Crum enjoyed writing poems and Christian essays as well as documenting her many travels. In 2008, she published a book, “Something of Value,”detailing their journey caring for and rearing their special needs son, Benjamin. She also enjoyed volunteering at church as a Sunday school teacher and a grief share counselor.

Mrs. Crum stayed physically active, she loved her daily walks and successfully completed the Indianapolis 500 Mini-Marathon several times.

She enjoyed traveling both in the US and abroad. Two of her most memorable trips were to Israel and Belgium.  Her most important priorities in life were her relationship with Jesus Christ, prayer, Bible study and family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters,Carmen Renee (David) Swedes, of Loveland, OH, and Tamara Leigh (Steven) Marino of Franklin, OH; six  grandchildren, Jacob (Bri) Marino, Jared Marino, Tyler Swedes, Jessica Marino-Quickle, Christopher Swedes, and Jenna Marino; two great-grandchildren, Lillyanna Quickle and Logan Quickle; brothers, Louis (Marjorie) Lewey of Litchfield, Gary (Betsy) Lewey of  Marseilles,  Jim Lewey of St. James, MO, Dwain (wife Martha) of Chatham, Sisters; Wanda (Jerry) Esselman of Ballwin, MO, and Beverly (Rodney) Matthews of Springfield.

Mrs. Crum was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter in infancy; one son, Benjamin Robert and sisters, Barbara Bowman, Mary Frieders and Margaret Reynolds.
