Norma Jean Moffitt, 83, of Springfield, died at 10:26 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at her home.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 24, beginning at 11 a.m. at Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Loami with Pastor Dave Ziegenbein officiating. Butler Funeral Home in New Berlin is assisting the family.

Mrs. Moffitt was born May 18, 1936, in New Berlin, the daughter of Charles and Dorothy (Sandidge) Baker.  She married John L. “Jack” Moffitt, Sr. on Nov. 25, 1956, at the New Berlin Baptist Church in New Berlin, and he preceded her in death on April 10, 1999.

A graduate of New Berlin High School, Mrs. Moffitt worked for many years in retail, most recently at Tuesday Morning.  She was a member of Chatham Christian Church, and enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, John L. “Jack” Moffitt, Jr.; one sister, Judy Canfield and three brothers, Jean Baker, Charles Baker, Jr. and Harold Baker.

She is survived by her son, Todd (Kellie) Moffitt of Washington, MO; daughter, Robin (Larry) Sarver of Waggoner; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy (Sal) DeLucia of Long Island, NY; and many nieces and nephews.
