Oilers Slip Past Lady Redskins

Posted

The Nokomis Lady Redskins must have forgotten that they had to play a volleyball game on the long and hot bus ride to East Alton-Wood River on Thursday night, Sept. 19.

With Nokomis dropping another road game, the Oilers dominated the contest in two short games.

Nokomis tried to compete in the second game and showed some signs of doing so, but four straight miscues allowed EAWR to run away with a 25-12 winner.

The first set was ugly for the Skins.  Despite attempts to shuffle the lineup and rotation,  Nokomis couldn’t manage consecutive points, leading to a lopsided outcome.  The home team finished off a quick first game with aces and won 25-10.

Nokomis will start the week at home against Morrisonville on Monday, Sept. 23, followed by a trip to Mulberry Grove on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
