Olin L. Settle, 95, of Hillsboro, died on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020, at 11:45 a.m. at his residence.
A private family graveside service will be held at Irving Cemetery. Those attending will be asked to social distance and wear masks. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family.
Mr. Settle was born Dec. 9, 1924, in Hillsboro, to Raymond and Gladys (House) Settle. He married Betty Louise White on March 6, 1947, in Hillsboro, and she survives.
He served his country in the U.S. Army. During his civilian career, he was a farmer and retired from Shell Oil Company in Wood River.
Mr. Settle lived in the Hillsboro community throughout his entire life.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Russell L. (wife Michelle) Settle of Irving; three grandchildren, Brent Allan Settle, Daniel Lee Settle and Morgan Brittnee Settle; and sister, Audrey Keith.
Mr. Settle was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Lawrence E. Settle.
