Patricia Ann “Pat” Eckhoff, 87, of Decatur, formerly of Benson, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2020, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Feb. 16, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke.

An additional visitation will be held  Monday, Feb. 17, from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. with Pastor David Abuya officiating. Burial will be held in the St Peter Lutheran Church  Cemetery. in Benson.

Mrs. Eckhoff was born Dec. 10, 1932, to Martin and Loretta (Blumenshine) Stromberger. She married Marvin R. Eckhoff on June 24, 1951, in Eureka, and he preceded her in death on April 1, 2018.

A homemaker, she also worked as a bookkeeper for several local business in the area and was an elected Woodford County treasurer, serving for 16 years before retiring. 

She was a member of the Illinois County Treasurer Association, the Central Illinois Antique Dealers Association. and a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in rural Benson.

Faith and family always came first with her and her love for the Lord, her family and others was evident in her actions. She was an avid reader, enjoyed puzzles of all kinds and was known for her love of baking.  She and her husband loved antiques.

She is survived by her three daughters, Marge (Steve) Kasten of Hoyleton, Jeanne Brennan of Lowpoint and DeAnn (John) Heck of Moweaqua; one brother, John “Jack” (Judy) Stromberger of Washington; one sister, Eva Keller of El Paso; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Steve Eckhoff; one son-in-law, Len Brennan; and one brother, Marty Stromberger.
