Patricia A. Sallade, 84, of Girard, died on Wednesday morning, Sept. 2, 2020, at her residence.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 8, from 9 to 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Girard. Funeral Mass will follow, beginning at 10 a.m. at the church with the Rev. James Palakudy officiating. Burial will be held in Girard Cemetery. Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard is assisting the family.
Mrs. Sallade was born Aug. 27, 1936, in Springfield, to Bernard and Margaret (Jupina) Nagel. She married Byron “Barney” Sallade on Aug. 27, 1955, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Girard, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 1993.
She graduated from Girard High School with the class of 1954. She began her working career at Franklin Life in Springfield. She later joined the banking profession and had worked at the State Bank of Girard, First National Bank and Prairie State Bank.
Mrs. Sallade was a lifelong member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Her spare time was spent cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals and the St. Louis Blues. Earlier in life, she was an avid bowler and belonged to several leagues with her husband.
She is survived by her daughter, Chana (Larry) McCarthy of Springfield; brother, Bernard “Bernie” (Linda) Nagel, Jr. of Auburn; and sister, Beverly Nemeth of Litchfield.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Sallade was preceded in death by her parents.
