Paul A. Hebenstreit, 88, of Vandalia, formerly of Ramsey, died on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at Fayette County Hospital.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 6, from 9 to 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Ramsey. Graveside services will follow, beginning at 10 a.m. at the cemetery with Father Scott Snider officiating. Miller Funeral Home in Ramsey is assisting the family.

Mr. Hebenstreit was born June 1, 1932, in Hanson, to Clement R. and Johanna M. (Miller) Hebenstreit. He married Zelma June McMann in 1951, and she preceded him in death in July 2003. He then married Frances L. Pierce in 1972, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 10, 2003. He later married Marietta (Murphy) Anderson on Feb. 25, 2006, and she preceded him in death on April 2, 2017.

During his career, he served as a farmer and supervisor for Prairie Farms Dairy for 33 years. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ramsey.

Mr. Hebenstreit is survived by his sons, Paul (Karen) Hebenstreit of Ramsey and Dennis (Cheryl) Hebenstreit of St. Elmo; daughters, Sylvia (Joe) Davis and Madonna McCaslin, both of Vandalia, Rita (Darrell) “P-Nut” McCammack of Brownstown, Mary (Robert) Bingham of Mooresville, IN, and Susan (Phil) Kelmel of Morrisonville; stepson, David (Diana) Tull of Herrick; stepdaughters, Robin Anderson of St. Louis,  MO, and Julia England of Taylorville; daughter-in-law, Cindy Hebenstreit of Ramsey; brother, Jim (Shirley) Hebenstreit of Golden, CO; sister, Clementine Rueff of Decatur; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his three wives, he was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Sylvester Kern; son, Tom Hebenstreit; stepson, Dennis Tull; brother, Richard Hebenstreit; sister, Cecilia Painter; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Ramsey.
