Paws Says Thank Your For Your Support

Posted

The Paws Care, Inc. board would like to thank the local communities for their support.

When the biggest fundraiser for Paws–their annual trivia night–was postponed and then canceled, it caused concern for the financial support to continue their mission of rescuing animals from high-kill shelters and transporting them to no-kill shelters.

Volunteers thought outside the box. They already had over 100 baskets put together to auction at the event so they decided to do this online and the people in the local and surrounding communities joined in the fun to bid.  Thanks to the generosity of their supporters, they raised more on baskets online than they did at last year’s in-person event.

They also had prizes for their egg game and decided to do a modified version of the game by selling eggs and distributing prizes from the front yard of trivia coordinator Linda Meier’s house.  It also was a huge success and all the eggs were sold.  People had fun while supporting Paws.

The Paws board cannot thank the people who supported them enough.  They also want to thank all the volunteers who went to local businesses to get donations, worked the egg game and countless other tasks.  A special thank you to Ellyn Hebden who put together many of the baskets and Linda Meier who put together the majority of the baskets, stored them, and met with high bidders to deliver auction items.

The board would also like to thank the following individuals, organizations, or businesses who donated back their table fee: Diana Anthony and Friends of Franklin County Animal Control, Susan Bennett, John Gusick, Durbin/Keepper/Rozmislowicz/Stewart, Summer Arnall, Bryan and Kimber Deming of DC Waste and Recycling (two tables), Taylor and Wooden families, Morgan Meade Johnson, Andy and Debbie Schum, Montgomery County Democrats with candidates Betsy Londrigan, Chase Wilhelm, and Bryant Hitchings (two tables), Alyssa Niehaus, and a few who wished to remain anonymous.  Paws is thankful for all of the support, and raised around what was raised last year.

Thank you Montgomery County and surrounding communities for your support of Paws.  A big thank you to Linda Meier for coordinating the events.
