Peggy S. Nathan, 62, of Staunton, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at Heritage Health in Staunton.

Public graveside services were held Wednesday, Dec. 23 in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Kelly Mitteis officiating. Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton assisted the family.

Mrs. Nathan was born Jan. 23, 1958, in Litchfield, the daughter of Mrs. Norma (Johnson Franke and the late Edwin Franke. She married John R. Nathan on June 23, 1979, at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton, and he survives.

For over 25 years, she worked as a cashier at Walmart in Litchfield. She had also worked at Echlin Manufacturing in Litchfield. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton. She was a “professional bargain shopper,” and was always smiling and laughing.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by two daughters, Rebecca (Doug) Looney and Mallory (Danny) Scroggins, all of Staunton; six grandchildren, Owen, Evan, Greyson and Addy Looney, and Camden and Keegan Scroggins; two sisters, Betty (Ron) Everley of Port Byron and Janelle Franke (Jeff Yarnik) of Staunton; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
