Penny Lynn Hall, 75, of Springfield, died on Saturday, May 10, 2025, peacefully at home.
A visitation and funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 24, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, located at 2477 W. Washington St. in Springfield. Visitation will take place from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. Wilson Park Funeral Home Rochester is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hall was born on July 9, 1949, in Hillsboro, the beloved daughter of Lynn and Rose Caulk.After working for the State of Illinois early in her career, Mrs. Hall spent over 20 years working in several different roles for the Rochester School District. Her commitment to the school and its teachers and students left an impression on everyone who passed through the halls.
Mrs. Hall was a life-long St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed watching Fighting Illini basketball. She loved playing cards with friends – bridge, pinochle and poker were among her favorites – and she enjoyed many years of friendly competition in local women’s golf leagues.
Mrs. Hall treasured family and friends. Holidays, get-togethers and long-standing traditions were the heart of her life and she made them special with her warmth and unending love. She was a seamless part of the group wherever she was and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Hall is survived by her devoted husband, Mike Hall of Springfield; son, Jason Hall; daughter-in-law, Holly Krasa; and cherished granddaughter, Jane Hall – all of Washington, D.C.; brother-in-law, David Wyatt of Sherman; and nephew, Dereck Wyatt of El Paso, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Rose Ann Wyatt; and brother, Roger Thomson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Protective League of Springfield and Sangamon County or to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
