Penny Marie (Crowder) Pulley, 65, of Staunton, died on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022, at Community Hospital of Staunton.

A memorial open house will be held Sunday, Dec. 18, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Macoupin Art Collective, 115 E. Main St. in Staunton. Cards and memorial gifts may be brought to the open house or sent to Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, who is assisting the family.

Ms. Pulley was born Nov. 9, 1957, in St. Louis County, MO, to Charles and Ada (Zumwalt) Crowder. She and the love of her life, Ronald “Ron” A. Woosley, were inseparable for over 22 years until his passing in 2018.

She was known as a favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews. Her friendships were long-lasting and deeply loyal. She was well-known for her goofy sense of humor and her famous potato salad.

Ms. Pulley had a love for animals, and her pets were always very happily spoiled. She was kind, thoughtful and hardworking.

As a young woman, she proudly joined the U.S. Army, but was honorably discharged to take care of her family after only one year. After which, she spent nearly 20 years with Echlin (Dana) in Litchfield, and volunteered to throw their children’s holiday party each year.

After Dana closed its doors, Ms. Pulley realized her dream of going to college, earning her associate of applied science degree in accounting at Lewis and Clark Community College, graduating with honors. She then worked at Amazon Warehouse (STL4) until her retirement on Oct. 28, 2022.

She had retirement plans to spend time with family and friends, travel, volunteer at The Macoupin Art Collective, create her dream homestead including chickens and a garden, and fixing up the home she shared with Ron for many years. She lived a simple life full of love and patience. There are truly no words to describe how deeply she will be missed by all.

Ms. Pulley is survived by her daughters, Christy (wife Emily) Pulley Ferguson, Kassia (partner Jason) Pulley Wright, Rachel (husband Gregg) Woosley Maddalon, Jessica (husband J.R.) Stillwell and Ashley (husband Jesse) Woosley Eaton; grandchildren, Annika Koester, Alexis Wright, Sawyer Werner, Austin, Casey and Cameron Hopper, Cory Allen, Lina Eaton, Erik Rabich, Jr., Edan Aubuchon and J.J. Denby; and siblings, Sharon (partner Thomas) Ray, Susan Kessler, Charles “Chuck” Crowder Jr., Donald “Duck” (wife Paula) Crowder, Tammy (partner Danny) Menke McBride, Alesia Menke Russell and Tonya (husband Rick) Menke Pieper.

In addition to Ron, she was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Debby Lovsey and Melody (husband Steve) Briggs.
