Philip Ray Cearlock, 65, of Hillsboro, formerly of Taylorville, died at 7:14 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2020, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Mr. Cearlock will be cremated and no public ceremonies will be held. Shafer-Perfetti and Assalley Funeral Home in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Cearlock was born on Nov. 27, 1954, in Taylorville, the son of Eugene F. and Twila Mae (Greer) Cearlock. He graduated from Taylorville High School and went on to work for May Township for over 25 years. In his free time, Mr. Cearlock enjoyed leatherworking.
Mr. Cearlock is survived by his sisters, Marcia Hengst-Carrell of Taylorville and Cathy Murrey of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Harold Cearlock.
