Pitchford, Skinner, Hopper Earn All-MSM Honors

Three members of the Morrisonville/Lincolnwood co-op baseball team were among those honored with all-conference recognition by the MSM Conference coaches for the 2019 season.

Lincolnwood seniors Dade Pitchford and Andrew Skinner were both first team selections, while Lincolnwood junior Evan Hopper earned a second team nod.

Pitchford batted .395 for the Mohawks and led the team in RBIs with 22 and hits with 30. He also had seven doubles, two triples and a home run to top all three categories for the team.

Skinner would bat .357 on the season, tying Pitchford for the team lead in hits, while being the Mohawks' top pitcher with a 3.85 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 43.2 innings.

Hopper, who was sidelined with injury trouble, batted .476 on the season with 20 hits, six doubles, a triple and a home run in just 42 at-bats.

In addition to the Lincolnwood trio, 15 other players earned all-conference recognition, including Tri-City/Sangamon Valley's Grant Altig, who was the conference's player of the year. Joining Altig, Pitchford and Skinner on the first team were Colton Larson of Lutheran/Calvary, Jackson Bland and Jack Kratochvil of Pawnee, Hunter Herzog of Edinburg/South Fork, Maxwell Schwab of Mt. Olive and Braden Campbell of Tri-City/Sangamon Valley.

On the second team were Zach Wake of Edinburg, Evan Noggle and Josh Mauney of Lutheran/Calvary, Zach Fisher and Connor Hennemann of Pawnee and Bo Largent, Jacob Trusner and Ian Young of Tri-City/Sangamon Valley.

Morrisonville would finish fourth in the MSM Conference with a 5-5 record, coming in behind Tri-City/Sangamon Valley (9-1), Pawnee (7-3) and Lutheran/Calvary (6-4). Mt. Olive (3-7) would be fifth, while Edinburg/South Fork (0-10) was sixth.
