I am proud to write in support of Rick Robbins for sheriff of Montgomery County.
I have been in law enforcement since 2008 and have had the opportunity to know and work with Rick during that time. I have learned many valuable lessons from Rick, both on and off the job–most importantly, "slowing down" and exercising patience in decision-making.
I have worked alongside Rick in tactical environments as part of our area's special response team and have seen firsthand Rick's ability to successfully operate under pressure.
I am fortunate to have recently had the opportunity to work in an undercover capacity in a narcotics unit. During those years, I was able to have many questions answered by Rick as well as seek advice, which always led to positive results.
Rick also taught me early on in my law enforcement career the importance of security in our schools. I've attended training conducted by Rick dealing with response to active shooter threats. Due to that training and the concern for our area's school safety, I was able to become a certified active shooter threat instructor. With that, I am continuing to work with Rick, our schools and businesses to improve security measures as well as local law enforcement's response to a crisis.
As a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces, I am honored to support a fellow veteran in his pursuit to lead the sheriff's office. More so, I have seen Rick's ability to lead day-to-day operations at the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, and I have full confidence that he will succeed in continuing to make the office an outstanding law enforcement agency committed to the citizens it serves.
