Ramona June Blankenship, 84, of Litchfield, died Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, at 11:52 p.m. at her home, surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Jan. 9, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchfield. Private family funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with her cousin, Marty Nogel officiating. Burial will be held in Bethel Ridge Cemetery near Atwater. Due to CDC guidelines, social distancing and masks will be required.
Mrs. Blankenship was born Jan. 2, 1937, in Litchfield, the daughter of the late George Earl and Erma Emma (Quick) Vogel. She married Gary Lee Blankenship on Jan. 3, 1955, in Walshville, and he preceded her in death in Sept. 2012.
She attended Litchfield High School. She retired as the cafeteria manager from the Litchfield Community School District. Over the years, she worked for Consolidated Communications Telephone Company, Barry Nursing Home and Jubelt’s Bakery. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to luncheons with her high school classmates, relaxing on her patio and enjoying the companionship of her beloved dog and cat.
Mrs. Blankenship is survived by her daughters, Karla Davis of Litchfield and Carrie (Mo) Beeler of Raymond; six grandchildren, Michael Cunningham of Phoenix, AZ, Travis (Brittani) Cunningham of Litchfield, Jessica (Justin) McWilliams and Kelsey Davis, all of Elizabethton, TN, Wyatt (fiance Kacie Boerckel) of Litchfield and Kara Bono of Staunton; and seven great-grandchildren, Lexi, Dominic and Jenson Cunningham, Charlotte McWilliams, Killian and Emilie Vann and Beverly Bono.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sister, Eileen Vogel and great-grandson, Alexander Cunningham.
