Raymond Eugene Akeman, 70, of Litchfield, died on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at 7:15 p.m. at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 19, at Litchfield Family Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, at Walshville Christian Church. Pastor Mark Johnson will officiate services. Burial will be at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield.
Mr. Akeman was born on Dec. 3, 1948, in Litchfield, to Marshall E. and Bernice (Randle) Akeman. He graduated from Litchfield High School in 1967. Mr. Akeman was the Road Commissioner for the South Litchfield Township in Litchfield for several years. He was a member for the Walshville Christian Church.
Mr. Akeman farmed his own ground and was interested in livestock in his younger years. He enjoyed going to truck and tractor pulls and spending time with his family.
Mr. Akeman is survived by his daughter, Sarah (James) Plybon of Branson, MO; siblings, Darrell (Gloria) Akeman of Waynesville and Donna (Don) Miller of Walshville: and four nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
