Retirees Treat Hillsboro School Staff

A group of local retired educators, called Retired Educators Supporting Teachers (REST), gathered in the back yard of Pam Dawson in Hillsboro on Wednesday morning, Sept. 2, to assemble treat bags for each of the 272 staff members of the Hillsboro School District.

The bags were filled with several pre-packaged items donated by individual retired educators, as well as a poem expressing gratitude and letting the staff know that others are aware of the extra work they are doing to serve students during this especially challenging school year.

The bags of treats were then delivered to the office of each school, the bus garage, and the unit office, to be distributed to all staff members.

Those contributing items or time include: Jean Anderson, Marti Coderko, Pam Dawson, Pam DeLong, Karen Donham, JoAnn Doss, Lori Evans, Karyl Frailey, Cassie Gunn, Connie Harling, Barb Hewitt, Nancy Hindle, Pam Hopper, Anne Huber, Kathleen Jones, Francine Luckett, Sonya Luckett, Connie Mills, Carol Naylor, Marty Niehaus, Patty Niehaus, Brenda Oberle, Pat Peterson, Diana Putnam, Rose Rappe, Romona Ray, Kathy Reeves, Pam Schaefer, Diane Singler, Nancy Snyder, Kathy Strack, Susan White, Patty Whitworth, Donna Youngless, and Mary Pat Zimmerman.
