Rhonda L. Heafy, 70

Rhonda Lee Heafy, 70, of Litchfield, died on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at 1:22 a.m. at her home. 

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 28, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Jon Magnuson of Beacon Church officiating. Burial will be held at Edgewood Cemetery in Litchfield. Due to CDC guidelines, social distancing and masks will be required.

Ms. Heafy was born April 11, 1951, in Litchfield, to Allen Wayne and Cora Mae (Slightom) Wolff. She married Paul G. Heafy in June 1975, and they later divorced.

She graduated from Litchfield High School with the class of 1969, and earned her bachelor’s degree in education at Eastern Illinois University.

Ms. Heafy returned home to teach home economics at Litchfield High School for a few years. With her husband Paul, she left Litchfield to great adventures, living in New York City, then San Juan, Puerto Rico. Together they enjoyed traveling to several exotic locations as well. Eventually landing in Oklahoma City, her daughter Kelly was born.

She loved design and architecture, and had a great sense of style. She studied drafting and for a time, designed displays for Ralph Lauren clothing company. She was skilled at interior design and enjoyed collecting vintage pieces of decor and artwork.

Ms. Heafy loved to host get-togethers and was a master of the crab boil. She loved classic rock and a good game of dice.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelly (Andrew) Mullen of Boston, MA; brother, Mark (Rhonda) Wolff of Litchfield; and three sisters, Linda (Jim) Coontz of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Bonnie (Andy) Furman and Della (Bob) Witter, both of Litchfield.

Ms. Heafy was preceded in death by her parents.
