Rickey Huffman, 68, of Sorento, died at 4:39 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2019, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

 A Celebration of Life was held Sunday, July 21, at Lifeline Fellowship Church in Sorento with Pastor Troy Huffman officiating. Cremation will be accorded prior to ceremonies. Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home of Sorento assisted the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Huffman was born on July 29, 1950, in the St. Louis suburbs of Missouri, to Joseph and Margaret (Duke) Janusweski. She married Danny Huffman on Nov. 11, 1967, in St. Louis. The couple enjoyed over 50 years of marriage. 

Mrs. Huffman graduated from Roosevelt High School in St. Louis and took on the full time job of being a homemaker. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and spent as much time with them as she could. Mrs. Huffman was a woman of unwavering faith and was the prayer warrior of the family. She spent numerous hours as a youth leader for her church. Mrs. Huffman enjoyed crafting and particularly liked making bird houses and macrame. She enjoyed interior decorating and was a long-time and beloved member of Lifeline Fellowship in Sorento.

Mrs. Huffman is survived by her husband; children, Tony (Dawn) Huffman of Palm Coast, FL, Gail (Blake) Bywater of Mt. Olive, and Pastor Troy (Stella) Huffman of Sorento; grandchildren, Lindsay (James) Santana, Cameron Huffman, Lainey Huffman, Blake (Kristi) Bywater, Breanna (Collin) Wasson, Brendan Bywater, Justin Bywater, Matthew Bywater, Joey Matthews, Stephanie (Matthew) Mossman, Isaac Shywolf, Daniel Huffman, Makayla Huffman and Dalton Huffman; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Sharon (Don) Govero, Cindy (Scott) Howard, Connie (Dave) Maness and Joey Janusweski, all of Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Rod, Randy and Carry Mercille.
