Robert T. Moral, 82, of Fillmore, died on Monday, May 11, 2020, at his home.

Cremation rights have been accorded and the family will be celebrating his life at a later date. McCracken-Dean Funeral Home in Pana is assisting the family.

Mr. Moral was born Feb. 4, 1938, in Miami, FL, to Sam and Katherine (O’Reardon) Moral and Kirk Welleman, who was a father figure to him. He married Carol Christ, and she survives.

He served in the Florida Coast Guard, later starting his own landscaping business. His business led to three generations of serving, growing and perfecting the trade as B&K Tree Service, then Allstate Tree Service, and finally Family Tree and Landscaping Service with his son Robert, who carried on the business for decades.

On Nov. 14, 1977, while his family and business grew, he was recruited for the Broward Fire Academy, where he graduated in 1979. Following his time at the academy, he began his very honorable and illustrious career as a cross-trained firefighter and port authority officer at Port Everglades Authority Fire and Security Division in Florida.

Mr. Moral and his wife opened and ran an antique store in Florida. In his spare time, he loved fishing, boating, camping, hunting, hiking, diving and all water sports with family and friends. He passed along his great love for the outdoors, sharing all its wondrous beauty and lessons with his children.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother, Donald Moral; six children, Julie Sellaro of Pompano Beach, FL, Robert (Nancy) Moral of Madison, FL, Sherry (Rick) Strickland of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Jeffrey (Amy) Moral of Southwest Ranches, FL, Stacye Moral Cahours of Middleburg, FL, and Brenda (Mark) Wilcox of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren, Elise, Jenny, Leah (Jeff), Shaina (Chris), Noah, Perry (Kali), Jennifer (Jerome), Alex (Cody), Rebecca, Chance, Elizabeth, Amber (Alex), Jesse, Nathaniel, Shane, Kyle (Jenna) and Mae Li; great-grandchildren, Easton, Nyah, Bella, Addie, Ally, Abby, Bridget, Edward, Audrianna, Carolina, Magnolia, Jackson, Eve and Luke; and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Moral was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Skip Moral; his children’s mother, Diane Angel Moral; and granddaughter, Verity Ann Colon.
