Robert Eugene Timpe, 60, of Dorchester died at his residence on Monday, May 16, 2016, at 5 p.m.
Visitation will be Friday, May 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie. Memorial services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Grant S. Jensen officiating.
Mr. Timpe was born on Feb. 3, 1956, in Alton. He married Beverly Deck on Dec. 21, 1996, in Alton, and she survives in Dorchester.
He was a mechanic for Midwest Bus and Ponders in Litchfield and was a member of the NRA. He loved target shooting, guns and making his own bullets. He also enjoyed being outside with his garden and cutting grass.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Timpe is survived by his mother, Dorothy Akers of Jerseyville; son, Robert C. (Jennifer) Timpe of Grafton; grandchildren, Alexander Timpe and Antony Timpe; stepchildren, Eric (Kristy) Cope of Godfrey and Monte (Mary) Cope of Wood River; stepgrandchildren, Hope, Rosie, Brandon and Robert; stepgreat-granddaughter, Marlie Rae; siblings, John Timpe, Katherine Akers, Delbert "Butch" Akers, Jr., Billy Joe Akers, April Tucker and Dorothy Bishop; aunt, Carol "Sue" Madden; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Katherine Timpe, and stepfather, Delbert Akers.
