Roger Wayne Mollett, 62, of Springfield, formerly of Hillsboro, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2019, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 26, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Brown Cemetery in Old Ripley.

Mr. Mollett was born July 8, 1957, in Highland to Charles Benedict and Dorothy (Hunter) Mollett. He married Vickie Seabolt and they later divorced. He then married Karen May Noblet on Nov. 8, 1985, at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Springfield, and she survives.

Growing up on the family farm north of Greenville, he attended local schools, and at the age of six, the family moved west of Hillsboro, where he graduated from Hillsboro High School.

He moved to Springfield and worked for the Illinois State Police, computer programming for four-and-a-half years. He then worked for over 25 years for the Illinois Department of Corrections, where he was a supervisor, retiring in 2007.

In addition to his wife of 33 years, he is survived by daughter, Audrey Marie (husband Mark) Williams of Centerville, OH; son, Charles Howard May of Chicago; brother, Glenn (Liz) Mollett of Auburn; and grandchildren, Ciara Williams, Kayla Williams and Jacob Williams.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Judy Mollett and brother, Randy Mollett.

Memorials may be made to the Animal Protective League of Springfield.
