Roleen Marie Rayburn, 99, of Mt. Olive, died on Friday, Dec. 20, 2019, at 4:08 a.m. at Heritage Health: Therapy and Senior Care in Gillespie.

Her body has been donated to Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. Becker and Son Funeral Home of Mt. Olive is assisting the family.

Mrs. Rayburn was born Jan 10, 1920, in Mt. Olive, to August Ferdinand and Marie Sophie (Fricke) Jaeck. She married Roy Raymond Rayburn on Nov. 29, 1943, in Joliet, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 2003.

She attended Immanuel Lutheran Grade School and graduated from Mt. Olive High School with the class of 1938.

Mrs. Rayburn worked for Mt. Olive Newsstand, Brown Shoe Factory in Litchfield and was a housewife. Additionally, she grew and sold African Violets.

She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Lydia Circle, and was an avid Cardinal baseball fan.

Mrs. Rayburn is survived by a son, Larry (Becky) Rayburn of San Diego, CA; daughter, Joann (Dale) Bartlett of Greenwood, MO; daughter-in-law, Tammy Rayburn of Edwardsville; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, Rick Rayburn; brother, Carl Jaeck; and two sisters, Marguerite Boston and Ruth Jaeck.
