Ron D. Sugg, 79, of Springfield, died on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at Greenville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Young Funeral Home in Greenville. Graveside services will follow, beginning at 1:30 p.m. at Liberty Cemetery in Mulberry Grove with military rites conducted by Mulberry Grove American Legion Post #1180.

Mr. Sugg was born Aug. 3, 1939, in Hillsboro, to Dale Floyd and Faye Ethel (Edwards) Sugg, and was lovingly raised by Dale and Nelda Sugg.

He grew up in Greenville and graduated from Greenville High School. He then served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

After he was discharged from the military, Mr. Sugg worked at Hub Clothing in Springfield for a time, then started working at the U.S. Post Office in Springfield, where he retired after 35 years. He also served as president of Springfield American Local Union Postal Workers for several years.

He is survived by his siblings, Shirley Louder of Westfield, MA, Larry (the late Pam) Sugg of Meadowbrook, Linda Puls of Hillsboro, Gary (Janie) Sugg of Sorento, Teri (Steve) Kern of Iuka, Mike Sugg and Mark (Natoma) Sugg, both of Mulberry Grove; and his nieces and nephews.

Mr. Sugg was preceded in death by his parents; and biological mother, Faye Ethel (Edwards) Sugg.

Memorials may be directed to Liberty Cemetery or Vitas Hospice.
