Ronald Dean Compton, 63, of Hillsboro, died on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at 2:50 a.m. at his residence.
Cremation rites were accorded and no services are planned at this time. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family.
Mr. Compton was born Oct. 9, 1956, in Hillsboro, to Richard E. and Wanda (Carlock) Compton. He married Cathy Hoffman on April 29, 2013, in Panama, and she survives.
He graduated from Hillsboro High School with the class of 1974, and served as a welder for construction.
Mr. Compton was a member of the Hillsboro Country Club. During his lifetime, he resided in Decatur, Augusta, GA, southern Illinois and Hillsboro.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother of Hillsboro; daughter, Brandy Rae Compton of Coffeen; brother, Richard “Dick” (wife Ida) Compton of Hillsboro; and two sisters, Kay (husband Bill) Hefley of Hillsboro and Barbara (husband Jim) Mack of Barnhart, MO.
Mr. Compton was preceded in death by his father.
