Ronald E. Cisco, 82, of Taylorville, died on Sunday, April 26, 2020, at 11:30 p.m. at his home.

A private family graveside service will be held Thursday, April 30, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville with the Rev. Bill Kerns officiating. A public memorial service will be held at a later date. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family.

Mr. Cisco was born Nov. 30, 1937, in Springfield, to Jesse H. and Rosa (Russell) Cisco. He married Janet L. McKee on June 20, 1959, in Springfield, and she survives.

During his career, he worked as a railroader for over 30 years for the Illinois Central and C & IM, where he served as switchman, yard master and trainmaster throughout his career.

Mr. Cisco was a member of Davis Memorial Christian Church in Taylorville. He loved sports of all kinds, but especially the Cardinals and Illini, and enjoyed bowling at North Lanes and working on stained glass projects. He was a quiet man who was liked by all that knew him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Ronald L. Cisco and Dawn (Tommy) Brown, both of Taylorville, and Mark (Peggi) Cisco of Stonington; grandchildren, Kirsten (Sean) Sowers, Katie (Nick) Brown, Noah (Alannah) Cisco, Emmilia (fiance Austin Vanderhule) Cisco, Joshua (Stephanie) Cisco, Kayleigh (John Whalen) Cisco, Nicole Cisco, Brittny (William McWard) Rueff, Megan (Nestor) Lopez and Courtney (Billy Esswein) Rueff; 23 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jesse Russell (Sylvia) Cisco of Mt. Olive, Geraldine Brown of Virden, Dale Cisco, Anna (Everett) Langley and William Cisco, all of Springfield,  and Jacqueline (Victor) Stade of Hutchison, KS; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Cisco was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; twin brother, Donald Cisco and his wife, Judy; brother-in-law, Virgil Brown; and sister-in-law, Beverly Cisco.
