Rosalie Ann Towell, 89 of Litchfield, died on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Dec. 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Hart Cemetery in Litchfield. Hough Funeral Home in Raymond is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Towell was born on January 9, 1930, in Barnett, to John Ray and Irene Elizabeth (Nieft) Whitlow. She first married Max Maurice Field, on February 23, 1961, he preceded her in death. She later married Bobbie Bruce Towell of Litchfield and he proceeded her in death on Nov. 26, 2008.
Mrs. Towell was a homemaker and worked as a legal secretary over the years. She was a member of the Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield where she formerly worked as the church secretary. Mrs. Towell was an election judge for the South Litchfield precinct. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Towell is survived by her children, Allen Field of St. Louis, MO, Susan (Greg) Williams of Litchfield and Nancy Shellhammer of Springfield; friend, Todd Shellhammer; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; daughter, Gloria Jean Rhoads; one brother, Russell Whitlow; and two sisters, Doris Nagel and Ruth House.
