Rosemary T. Martin, 92, of Farmersville, died on February 13, 2020, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Farmersville. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Martin Cemetery in Farmersville. Hough Funeral Home in Farmersville is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Martin was born on Jan. 28, 1928, in Farmersville, to Ralph and Mary (Millburg) Brown. She married Kenneth L Martin on Feb. 18, 1950, he preceded her in death on June 13, 1975.
Mrs. Martin was a farm wife and homemaker. She also worked for the state of Illinois for ten years. Mrs. Martin was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Farmersville Senior Citizens where she served as president for many years. She also served as clerk for Bois D’ Arc Township.
Mrs. Martin is survived by her sons, Michael (Donna) Martin, John (Abigail) Martin, Warren Martin, Daniel (Beth) Martin and Thomas (companion Karen) Martin; grandchildren, Darci (Shawn) Browning, Matt (Jessica) Martin, Adam Martin, Emily Martin, Lindsay Martin, Ashley (Brandon) Schowengerdt, Whitney (fiancé Jeff) Martin, Crystal (Aaron) Shotts, Josh (Amy) Tucker, Danielle (Chase) Koontz, Brett Martin, Cody (Joni) Martin and James (Brendell) Martin; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Glenn (Ella Marie) Brown; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her infant son Timothy; grandson, Blake Martin; daughter-in-law, Susie Martin; and siblings, Harold Brown, Jerry Brown and Shirley Hobson.
