Rountree Dock, Benches Honor Kaden

A dock and pair of park benches were dedicated at Rountree Gun Club west of Nokomis in memory of the late Kaden Dean Reynolds, 16-year-old son of Kristopher and Jodi Reynolds of Nokomis, who passed away on Dec. 12, 2019.

Since the Reynolds family has a long history of active membership at the gun club, they decided the beautiful rural setting was a perfect and fitting place for the benches in Kaden’s honor, and the Rountree Gun Club Board helped make the family’s wishes a reality.

The benches and dock were dedicated during a gathering of family and friends on Sunday, July 12, with events that included some of Kaden’s favorite pastimes: fishing, trap shooting, trucks and visiting with family and friends.  The dock was christened by Kaden’s younger brother Konner jumping into the pond.

A junior at Nokomis High School last year, Kaden was active in the Trinity Lutheran Church, the local FFA, where he held the office of secretary, Montgomery County Starr Shooters 4-H office of treasurer, Nokomis baseball and Pheasants Forever.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers, Kolin, Kyle and Konner; grandparents, Kelly and Twila Reynolds of Nokomis, Judy Johnson of Coalton, and Gary and JoAnn Harston of Moweaqua.
