Roy Clifford “Pudge” Fleming, 79, of rural Staunton, died at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2026, at his residence.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Fleming was born on Oct. 29, 1946, in East St. Louis, the son of the late Roy and Rose Marie (Dudley) Fleming. He married Diane Stanley on June 15, 1968, in Worden, and she survives.
He was a concrete finisher with Local #90 of East St. Louis and was a Purple Heart recipient, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Panama VFW Post #6628 in Panama, New Douglas Masonic Lodge #560, the National Wild Turkey Federation and was an avid lifelong hunter.
Mr. Fleming is survived by his wife, Diane Fleming of rural Staunton; son, Randy (Kim) Fleming of DeSoto, MO; grandchildren, Nikki (Stuart) Fraser of New Douglas and Richard Fleming of Roxana; great-grandchildren, Owen and Wyatt Fraser; sister, Lynda Whitson of Staunton, and one brother, Jack Fleming.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kenny Fleming; granddaughter, Amber Fleming; sister, Charlotte Tiepelman; and brothers, Ronnie, James and David Fleming.
Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran School in Staunton.
