Ruth J. Minarsch, 93, of Highland, died on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, at San Gabriel Memory Care in Highland.
Private arrangements will be held at a later date. Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland is assisting the family.
Mrs. Minarsch was born Dec. 18, 1929, in Casa Grande, AZ, to Cornelius and Oma (Rapier) Vickers, Sr. She married Victor J. Maran, and he preceded her in death. She later married Richard A. Minarsch, and he preceded her in death.
She lived in Casa Grande, AZ, until the age of 12, when she moved to Santa Monica, CA.
After her children were grown, Mrs. Minarsch started working for Huntington Beach School District.
She moved to Mission Viejo, CA, in 1992. In April 2021, she moved to Illinois to be closer to her son. She loved growing roses in her backyard.
Mrs. Minarsch is survived by her son, Thomas (Ann) Maran and Jerry (Fleur) Maran; grandchildren, Ken D. Zobrist, Vanessa (James) Zipf and Charissa (Jesse) Colyar; great-grandchildren, Danielle and Curtis Grathwohl, Ryan and Andrea Doolittle, Alexander, Zachary and Nathaniel Zipf and Paisley, Harlowe, Walker, Landen and in July, Delilah Joy; great-great-grandchildren, Gavin, Jake and Luke Grathwohl; brother, John (Marjorie) Vickers; stepchildren, Robert Minarsch, Kathy Walsh and Richard Minarsch; and stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda C. Maran; grandson, Peter Levi Maran; and brother, Cornelius C. Vickers, Jr.
