Ruth Laverne McGinnis, 86, of Florida, formerly of Raymond, died on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, at 1:50 p.m. at her home in Edgewater, FL.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 14, beginning at 6 p.m. at Edgewater United Methodist Church in Edgewater, FL, with Pastor Gary Tarleton officiating.
Mrs. McGinnis was born on Jan. 2, 1931, in Litchfield, to Henry and Meta Wempen of Raymond. She married Harry Eldon McGinnis on Sept. 4, 1948, in Raymond, and he preceded her in death.
She was a farmer's wife and a member of Edgewater United Methodist Church. She was also a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as Grand Matron.
Mrs. McGinnis is survived by a son, James (wife Linda) of Port Orange, FL; a daughter, Cathy of Edgewater, FL; six grandchildren; as well as 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Carliene, in infancy; as well as a grandson, Aaron.
Memorials may be directed to the Edgewater United Methodist Church or the Shriner's Hospital for Children.
