Ruth M. (Border) Osborn, 97, of Butler, died on Monday, April 13, 2020, at 11:30 p.m. at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.

Private graveside services will be conducted at Montgomery Cemetery in rural Hillsboro with the Rev. Ralph Ward of Hillsboro officiating. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Osborn was born Aug. 13, 1922, in Toledo, OH, to Wilder and Edna (Albracht) Border. She married David Osborn on Feb. 23, 1946, in Toledo, OH, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 1983.

She graduated from DeVilbiss High School in Toledo, OH.

During her career, Mrs. Osborn worked as a clerk at Montgomery Ward Dept. Store in Litchfield and owned and operated Red and White Grocery Store in Butler. She was also a housewife and mother.

She was a member of Union Presbyterian Church in Butler, and loved gardening, bowling, playing cards and dining out with family and friends. Throughout her lifetime, she resided in Toledo, OH, and Butler.

Mrs. Osborn is survived by her children, Bill (wife Dinah) Osborn of Coral Springs, FL, and Nancy (husband Jim) Snyder of Butler; grandchildren, Neil (wife Monica) Osborn of Holly Springs, NC, and Andrew (Jessica Kong) Snyder of Elk Grove Village; and great-grandchildren, Aiden Osborn and Ethan Osborn.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and two sisters.

Memorials may be directed to Union Presbyterian Church in Butler.
