Ruth May Welge, 95, of Litchfield, formerly of Raymond, died on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Hillsboro Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

No visitation will be held. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Asbury Cemetery in Raymond. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is assisting the family.

Mrs. Welge was born Sept. 16, 1924, in Modoc, to Noble and Nettie (Dunlap) Brown. She married Clarence E. Welge on March 7, 1941, in St. Louis, MO, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 2005.

During her career, she worked as a cook at Waggoner School, worked on the Walch Turkey Farm and at Webb Boiler Plant in poultry processing.

Mrs. Welge was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Litchfield. She enjoyed taking care of her family and was known to be a very good cook.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Welge of Coffeen; two daughters, Jeanette (Karl) Hobson of Farmersville and Helen Stuhmer of Port Charlotte, FL; two sisters, Vera Jones and Jessie (Leroy) Beveneau, both of Red Bud; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Welge was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and four sisters.

Memorials may be directed to Raymond-Harvel Volunteer Fire Department or New Hope Baptist Church in Litchfield.
