Sabol Honored By IBCA

Originally scheduled for early June, the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association all-star basketball games have been cancelled for this year.

“We will still be naming student-athletes to these teams.  These players will be honored on our web page and in our Hall of Fame banquet book,” an IBCA press release stated. “We heartily congratulate those seniors who have earned this prestigious honor.”

Among those players slected for the IBCA Class 1A/2A boys basketball game was Nokomis senior Carter Sabol, who was scheduled to play for the South Team. Sabol averaged 20.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per game in his senior season, finishing his career as Nokomis’ top overall scorer in boys basketball.

Joining Sabol on the South Team were several opponents of the Redskins during the 2020 campaign, including Connor Heaton and Jacob Paradee of Central A&M and Javonnie Moore of Madison. The team was scheduled to be coached by Randy Bishop of Lawrenceville. Complete rosters for the games can be found at www.ibcaillinois.org.
