Samuel Hairston, 62, died peacefully at his home on Dec. 9, 2025, in Hillsboro.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026, at 12 p.m., at St. James Baptist Church, located at 1101 E. Seward St. in Hillsboro. Hough-Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family.
He was born on Dec. 19, 1962, in Chicago. He was a kind and loving local who was a devoted member to St. James Baptist Church in Hillsboro.
Mr. Hairston is survived by his father, Samuel Hairston, Sr., of Hermiston, OR; wife, Cathryn Marak Hairston of Hillsboro; two daughters; three granddaughters and two sons-in-law; Christina (Scott) Davis of Odin and daughters, Alexandria Michele Davis, Reina Louise Davis and Scottie Marrie Davis; and his youngest daughter Samantha (James) Smith of Glen Cove, NY.
